Jake Gallagher, D.O. is an Osteopathic Physician who specializes in the application of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) to a variety of conditions.
He received his Bachelor of Science from Trinity College in Hartford, where he received the J. Wendell Burger Prize in Biology. Dr. Gallagher subsequently graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018. He was the president of his medical school’s chapter of the Student American Academy of Osteopathy. He completed his residency focusing in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in 2021 and was the Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Gallagher has been a professor at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York since 2022.
In the outpatient setting, Dr. Gallagher is familiar with performing OMT on a variety of complex medical and pain conditions. He routinely saw patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic and rheumatologic pain conditions, as well as those undergoing joint replacement surgery, both pre- and post-operatively. He has seen many ways in which past trauma, both physical and emotional, continues to affect the body and is interested in helping his patients restore balance to mind, body, and spirit.
One unique aspect of Dr. Gallagher’s training is his familiarity with treating new mothers and newborn babies, sometimes mere minutes after a delivery. He is a firm believer in the saying, “As the twig bends, so the tree grows,” and is dedicated to treating babies and children to support their overall healthy growth and development.
Originally from Maine, Dr. Gallagher now lives in New Canaan with his wife. When he's not in his practice or teaching, he enjoys canoeing, hiking, and being outdoors.
